Dr. Ramin Baschshi, President and CEO of UCP of Orange County, is new chair of the First 5 Orange County Children and Families Commission
First 5 Orange County has appointed Dr. Ramin Baschshi as Chair of the Children and Families Commission. Dr. Baschshi will serve a one-year term as chair.
Dr. Baschshi is the current President and Chief Executive Officer of UCP of Orange County, which is a leading nonprofit providing services to more than 5,300 children and families affected by developmental disabilities. Dr. Baschshi previously served as Chief Operating Officer of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles.
“Dr. Baschshi is passionate about supporting young children and ensuring they receive the resources they need to reach their full potential,” said First 5 Orange County President and Chief Executive Officer Kim Goll. “We are thrilled to continue our work together to benefit Orange County’s most vulnerable.”
The chairperson is selected by a vote of the nine Commissioners.
Dr. Baschshi was appointed by the Orange County Board of Supervisors to the Commission in 2018 to serve in the Healthy Children and Early Intervention category. She has long worked to improve the lives of children in the Orange County area through her work as a medical doctor, hospital administrator and children’s charity leader.
