First 5 Orange County would like to welcome two new members who will serve on the First 5 Orange County Commission.
Dr. Katherine Chiu is the Director of Pediatric Anesthesiology in the UC Irvine School of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care. She will serve as a First 5 OC Commissioner in the health category.
Leah Ersoylu serves as a Newport-Mesa Unified School District Trustee and is President of Ersoylu Consulting, a firm delivering policy strategy and research services. She will serve as a First 5 OC Commissioner in the education category.
Returning to the Commission is Jackie Filbeck, who was reappointed as a First 5 Orange County Commissioner. She will continue to serve First 5 Orange County’s Commission in the education category. A Commissioner since 2019, Filbeck is entering her second term.
Filbeck also currently sits on the Anaheim City School District board and is passionate about early childhood learning.
With his term ending, First 5 Orange County wants to thank Kenneth McFarland for his service as First 5 Orange County Commissioner since 2019.
As Commissioner in the health category, he helped further First 5 OC’s goals of promoting nurturing and early childhood health and development.
