First 5 Orange County has allocated up to $50,0000 for staff, consultants and community partners to participate in OC Human Relations’ reStructure program, an 11-month cohort for racial equity improvement, and to help implement racial equity practices in their workplaces.
The reStructure program helps companies and individuals understand the history and legacy of racial inequity in Orange County, explore the concepts of diversity, equity and inclusion as they apply to corporate settings, and identify existing resources and opportunities for improvement related to racial equity.
First 5 Orange County staff is using the knowledge and tools learned from the cohorts to develop an Equity Commitment, and to revise and rethink our Early Developmental Index results and reporting and our communication strategies.
