Celebrating Home Visitors: Abrazar, OMID, & The Priority Center

Apr 17, 2026 | News & Announcements

Orange County home visiting provides families with vital, personalized support during the most critical years of a child’s development. Through trusted connections with trained home visitors, families receive guidance, education, and resources tailored to their unique needs.

Through Abrazar’s home visiting program, one mother found guidance, understanding, and a trusted space to grow. The program supported her not only with material resources but through classes that helped her build confidence as both a parent and a person. Having someone to talk to about the realities of motherhood, daily life, and past trauma made a meaningful difference. Her home visitor, Gloria’s consistent presence, attentive listening, and thoughtful guidance, helping her feel supported every step of the way. Their relationship made her feel stronger, more capable, and better equipped to care for her children.

By meeting families where they are, home visitors strengthen parent–child relationships and support healthy development during the most formative years.

A mother participating in OMID’s program shared how the strong connection with her Parent Educator helped her better understand and care for her child: “I have had a good experience from the home visiting program. Since joining the program, I have learned so much about my baby, like how to react to their needs and how to play, feed, and talk with them. My Parent Educator is a very kind woman who is friendly and always gives us good advice.”

Through home visiting, one mother in Orange County experienced a uniquely meaningful relationship with her Parent Educator, Steven, who warmly greeted both mother and child, checking in on their health and overall well-being and noting new developments in her daughter’s progress. Steven consistently provided clear, thoughtful guidance, reviewing the curriculum step by step to ensure full understanding and taking time to answer any questions before the end of each video call.

Having welcomed a new child more than a decade after the mother’s previous parenting experience, the program served as an important refresher. Alongside educational support, tangible resources such as diapers through a Community Action Partnership donation program helped ease daily challenges. Together, this consistent, relationship-based support strengthened the mother’s confidence and ensured she felt informed and empowered throughout her parenting journey.

Orange County Home Visitors are changemakers in early education, working tirelessly to support parents as they work to prepare their children for school success. Over the last few weeks, we were honored to highlight home visiting and show appreciation for YOU!
