First 5 Orange County is pleased to announce that we have received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).
The award was given to us in large part because of the incredible hard work, perseverance and dedication of our Director of Finance and Administration, Michael Garcell, who put together our annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2021. First 5 Orange County Senior Finance Analyst Nicole Preciado and Contracts Administrator Jennifer Berthon were also crucial in creating the report and deserve recognition.
It’s the 13th consecutive year that First 5 Orange County has received this award, which is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting.
First 5 Orange County takes pride in its transparency and responsible management of the important funding we receive and administer to meet the needs of young children and their families in our local communities.
A formal presentation of the award will be scheduled for later this summer.
