The Bank Street College Learning Starts at Birth Initiative has launched the application process for an inaugural Early Childhood Policy Fellowship.
Applications are being accepted now through June 6, 2022 for this year-long remote cohort program, which will begin in September 2022.
The fellowship will engage mid-career early childhood leaders as they meet the challenges and opportunities of the current moment to design more equitable, high-quality early childhood systems. The fellowship is designed to support fellows personally and professionally, prioritizing leaders who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), recognizing they have been historically excluded from policy leadership positions.
Fellows will propose a capstone that leverages their role to drive sustainable change. Program staff and field leaders will provide ongoing coaching to fellows throughout the year to support them as they apply learning from the program to their work and capstone project.
The Early Childhood Policy Fellowship will provide Fellows with:
- A curriculum focused on developing leadership skills, navigating the complexities of early childhood policy work, and advocating for equitable, high-quality early care systems
- Coaching from current leaders in the field to guide fellows as they implement new initiatives and manage large-scale change
- Time and space to reflect and grow professionally alongside a cohort of other emerging leaders
An information session will be held May 25 at 10 a.m. ET.
All applications are due by June 6, 2022.
