HomeAid Orange County is holding its 2021 Thanksgiving Meal Drive as part of its Homelessness Awareness Month campaign in October.
The community-based donation drive is aimed at collecting non-perishable foods for our neighbors experiencing homelessness so that they too can have food on the table for Thanksgiving dinner.
Community members are asked to donate non-perishable canned and boxed food items that will be used to make Thanksgiving Meal Boxes that are distributed to people living in the 74 forms of housing developed by HomeAid Orange County and operated by HomeAid’s non-profit service provider partners.
There are many ways to help:
- Sign up here to host a donation site. HomeAid Orange County will provide a collection bin. Donation site hosts take the collected items to the Drive Thru Drop-Off on Nov. 5 at the Lakeview Senior Center in Irvine.
- Sign up here to volunteer to sort donations on Nov. 5 or assemble Thanksgiving Meal Boxes on Nov. 6.
- Click here to donate food online through HomeAid Orange County’s Amazon wish list.
- Sponsor Homelessness Awareness Month from Oct. 1 to Nov. 30.
