New Annual Report Documents Children and Families Served in Fiscal Year 2013/2104

The Children and Families Commission of Orange County Releases its Annual Summary Performance Report

Santa Ana, Calif., Jan. 2015 – The Children and Families Commission of Orange County’s Annual Summary Performance Report for fiscal year 2013/ 2014 is now available. The summary details the number of services provided –children and family members served — as well as Commission dollars in program spending in its four goal areas: Healthy Children, Early Learning, Strong Families and Capacity Building. A special emphasis on catalytic investments is also featured in the new report.

Highlights from the Annual Summary Performance Report include:

  • 3,091,153 services provided by the Children and Families Commission in FY 2013/ 2014.
  • 171,412 new children served.
  • 157,915 new family members served.
  • 15,487 providers served.
  • 12,408 children received dental services including restorative and emergency treatment and dental visits for children with special needs.
  • 36,351 children participated in a program to increase the frequency of reading at home.
  • The Commission’s $20 million, 10-year catalytic investment in Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County provided education to more than 4,000 parents and 8,000 children, conducted more than 6,000 dental screenings, and referred nearly 1,500 children for follow up treatment.
  • The Commission invested $7 million in The Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders, which was matched by The Thompson Foundation. In 2013/ 2014, 3,428 specialty care clinic visits were provided to children, and 4,456 specialty care education, resources, referrals, and support services were provided to parents.
