OC Board of Supervisors approves $5 million grant on heels of First 5 Orange County’s child care report

Oct 21, 2020 | News & Announcements

The Orange County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, Oct. 20 approved a $5 million emergency CARES Act grant to benefit licensed child-care providers in the county.

First 5 Orange County is working with Charitable Ventures to administer an application process and to disburse and allocate the funds to child-care providers that meet eligibility.

The grant approval comes on the heels of First 5 Orange County’s Child Care Landscape Analysis report, which revealed a harsh landscape for Orange County’s working parents and child-care providers.

Funds will be dispersed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The application process starts Oct. 30 and ends on Nov. 9.
