First 5 Orange County featured in Orange County Register story on child care report

Oct 7, 2020 | News & Announcements

First 5 Orange County’s Child Care Landscape Analysis report was featured in an article in The Orange County Register detailing the findings.

The story quoted First 5 Orange County President/CEO Kim Goll in detailing the lack of affordable and quality child care in the county, and how the COVID-19 pandemic has only made things worse for both caregivers and providers.

An excerpt from the story:

(First 5 OC President Kim Goll) said the shakeup caused by the pandemic might be providing a chance to reshape a local child care system that’s struggled for years.

“This might help guide the rebuilding of child care,” Goll said. “We might actually be able to learn how to make investments in this system in a way that it won’t be so vulnerable next time with whatever comes our way.”
